California High Risk Car Insurance - Looking at All the Angles, Part I

Filed under: California High Risk Car Insurance, High Risk Auto Insurance — California High Risk Car Insurance Editor @ 7:52 am

Choosing car insurance when we first did it was not the easiest thing in the world; in fact, it took quite a bit of work on our part. We were new to California and so were uneducated to say the least about state requirements when it came to insurance in general. Then of course it was the sifting through different policies to find the one that would work for us in terms of coverage and budget. That took research on our part and a lot of patience but we found what we wanted and we have been happy ever since. Then we found ourselves faced with another situation that would rock our comfortable car insurance boat. My husband - not the best driver in the world - finally got enough tickets that his license was suspended and in order to be a legal driver once his license was restored he needed to carry high risk auto insurance.

We thought that this was something that we could simply turn to our insurance company for and it would simply be an addition or extension of our existing policy. What we didn’t know, however, was that not every car insurance company offers high risk auto insurance and our insurance company was not one that did. Covering drivers with a history of problems - including traffic violations and accidents - was a huge risk for any insurance company and there were not that many that were willing to make that offer. We were back to having to do research - enough research before my husband got his license back so we could have him covered appropriately.

Taking the advice of our current insurance company we got online to do our research where we knew we could collect the most information and be able to even ask for a car insurance quote. California had some options available to us; we just needed to find them. More in the next post…

Getting a Car Insurance Quote: California Policies Side by Side, Part II

Filed under: Car Insurance Quote California, High Risk Auto Insurance — California High Risk Car Insurance Editor @ 1:33 am

In the last post I talked about being new to the state and not only having to face the challenges that come with a move and starting a new life in unfamiliar surroundings but also having to hit the ground running by finding high risk auto insurance. This move to California was corresponding with getting my driver’s license restored to me. I had had my license suspended for a period of time because of my driving record but now I had it back and I was able to start driving again. However, the only way that I could get back on the road legally was to carry high risk auto insurance - at least for this period of time while I was considered a high risk driver.

I had been nervous about finding a policy but I started online by first identifying those insurance companies that even offered California high risk car insurance policies. This was a great way to get to know the area and learn about the companies that were available to me. Not every car insurance company offers high risk auto insurance but I found those that did and - further - I found those that were considered reputable based on customers’ experiences and industry information.

Once I found those companies I compared policies side by side. This was absolutely paramount to getting the best price. Some policies may have seemed less expensive but when I really looked at them I realized that they didn’t offer what I needed. From each company I requested a car insurance quote. California policies differed between them and by requesting quotes I could really compare apples to apples and choose the policy that was most affordable and still gave me the coverage that I need during this time. With comprehensive SR22 insurance on my side I could finally get back on the road and get familiar with my new surroundings.

Getting a Car Insurance Quote: California Policies Side by Side, Part I

Filed under: Car Insurance Quote California — California High Risk Car Insurance Editor @ 10:19 am

Looking for car insurance is not the easiest thing to do when you’re new to sa tate; but it’s even more challenging when you’re in the market for something that is beyond the traditional. Not only was I a newcomer to California, I was in need of high risk auto insurance because of my driving record. In fact, I had lost my license for a period of time and was just now getting it back. In order to be on the road legally I needed to have what is referred to as SR22 insurance or high risk auto insurance. Of course I was going to do everything that was required of me to get back to driving but I have to admit that I was daunted at the prospect of finding California high risk car insurance that I could afford in a state with which I was unfamiliar.

The first thing that I did was to get online to explore my options. This was where I was first able to identify those companies that offered high risk auto insurance in my area. This initially gave me some feeling of control in a state where I felt very out of place. Online I could research companies that offered high risk auto insurance - because not all insurance companies even offer it - and read about the experiences of others who have been or still are in my situation. This allowed me to determine who was most reputable based on the testimonials of others and standing in the business community in general.

Once I had narrowed down the field to insurance companies that offered high risk auto insurance I could determine which policy was appropriate for my needs. The first thing to do was to request a car insurance quote. California may have some options after all. More in the next post…

California High Risk Car Insurance - There Are Options

Filed under: California High Risk Car Insurance, High Risk Auto Insurance — California High Risk Car Insurance Editor @ 3:51 pm

There are some things that automatically put people on the defensive and car insurance is one of them. Car insurance is obviously a must; something that we must legally have in order to be on the road. Yet we also assume that car insurance comes at a high price tag no matter what - especially high risk auto insurance.

California high risk car insurance is something that must be carried by those who are considered high risk drivers in the state of California. This is also legally mandated; something that must be done by those who have had their license suspended and then restored. Insurance companies will now be taking a bigger risk by insuring such drivers and they charge extra for this privilege. Obviously many people automatically assume that high risk auto insurance will simply be unaffordable and they might as well not bother getting back behind the wheel.

The reality, however, is that there are options when it comes to car insurance including SR22 insurance or high risk auto insurance. There are many insurance companies out there that provide insurance policies of all kinds - high risk auto insurance included; it is only a matter of finding the right insurance company and the right policy. Then, within those policies there are a variety of policy prices. It comes down to doing the work to find the companies that offer high risk auto insurance policies and comparing policy to policy.

Getting online is the first thing to do when it comes to high risk auto insurance research. There you can identify the companies close to you that offer California high risk car insurance. Then from those companies you can explore the policies that they offer. Comparing policies side by side will allow you to see what they offer and for what price so that you can compare appropriately and make the best decision.

Looking Into SR22 Insurance

Filed under: High Risk Auto Insurance, SR 22 Insurance — California High Risk Car Insurance Editor @ 7:34 am

The Internet has offered us many advantages - not the least of which is the ability to simply logon to our computers and search for whatever it is we need in the world, after which we are delivered with the answers within moments. There’s not much that we don’t turn to the Internet to find; everything is out there at our fingertips and we can easily access all that we need without even leaving our home or office. Such is the case with finding information regarding SR22 insurance - auto insurance that high risk drivers are often legally required to carry. If, for instance, you have your license suspended for any infraction you may be required by law to carry SR22 insurance - high risk auto insurance - to get back on the road.

High risk auto insurance, of course, comes at a higher price than traditional auto insurance policies and that is the reason that it should be searched out so carefully. Not every policy is the same, prices fluctuate, coverage differs between policies; these are all things that require time and attention to detail if you are going to find the policy that makes the most sense for you with regard to coverage and price.

Getting online to find SR22 insurance offers you many benefits including:

The opportunity to find companies that offer high risk auto insurance. As you can imagine, not every auto insurance company offers this kind of coverage. You can easily locate those companies that do online.

Better vet the companies in which you are interested. Want to find out if there’s any complaints against companies? What customers have to say about their insurance coverage and customer service experience? There’s no better place than online.

The ability to compare policies side by side. Because policies differ in what they offer it’s important to be able to make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Online you can see clearly the coverage that companies offer and make sure that you are going to be getting what you need at a price you can afford.

High Risk Auto Insurance for the Newest Driver on our Team, Part II

Filed under: California High Risk Car Insurance, High Risk Auto Insurance — California High Risk Car Insurance Editor @ 7:22 am

In the last post I talked about the addition of my son to our family of drivers and how we were caught off guard by the fact that he would - at least initially - be considered a high risk driver. To get a label of this kind seemed strange to me when he had not even been out on the road as of yet but it was explained to me that his age, inexperience, and even his gender made him - statistically anyway - a high risk driver that would, as a result, require high risk auto insurance. This was news to me and not news that I was happy to receive. We already paid so much money in car insurance as a family; I didn’t know how we would be able to swing the cost for a California high risk car insurance policy.

We went online where we knew we had the best shot of finding the information that we needed and we were absolutely right to start there. Here’s the thing - there are a ton of insurance companies out there and while many do not even offer high risk auto insurance those that do offer policies that must be examined carefully. Not every policy offers what you need so while the price may look good, you then find out that the price is lower because it does not provide what you ultimately need.

Going through the Internet allowed us to really compare apples to apples - to put policies side by side and determine what would work best for us and out of that group who offered the best price. This was absolutely the way to go. We could even investigate the companies with which we were considering working - to see if they had a good reputation or if there were any complaints against them. In the end we found the policy that would serve us well and at a price we could at least manage in the short term.

High Risk Auto Insurance for the Newest Driver on our Team, Part I

Filed under: High Risk Auto Insurance — California High Risk Car Insurance Editor @ 3:15 pm

Welcoming my son into the world of driving was difficult enough as a parent who is, of course, worried about his safety. But we were also met with news that we were unprepared for - that because of his age and inexperience our son would be considered a high risk driver right from the start and would - as a result - require high risk auto insurance. For a family that already paid through the nose for car insurance, as well as a host of other bills, we were terrified to think what California high risk car insurance would now cost us over and above what we were already paying.

While it was true that high risk auto insurance does come at a premium there was some room within the industry to find policies that would not completely break the bank. After all, this wasn’t forever; as long as my son kept his driving record clean he would not be considered a high risk driver for too long. We needed to find a policy that covered our needs today and allowed us to abide by what we were legally required to do - at a cost we could wrap our heads around.

The Internet was very much our salvation on this front. By getting online we could search out policies that met our needs and best of all we could compare policies side by side to determine which made the most sense for the money they were asking. As it turns out there was a lot of differences between policies; we needed only to do the legwork it would take to find those policies that worked for us and then make our decision from there. I was happy to know that we still had some options available to us and we were ready to see what was out there from which to choose. More to come in the next post.

Establishing My High Risk Auto Insurance Policy

Filed under: High Risk Auto Insurance, SR 22 Insurance — California High Risk Car Insurance Editor @ 10:27 am

No one - I repeat - no one wants to be put into the position of having to face the music when they’ve done something wrong; but when you get caught doing something that is not above board the best that you can hope to do in that situation is handle it with maturity and responsibility. What I was facing was my (poor) decision to drive when my license was suspended and my subsequent longer term removal of my driver’s license. I was also facing the very real financial reality that I was going to have to pay a lot of money to get insured once I was back on the road. I was now going to have to have SR22 insurance - high risk auto insurance - and the state would be keeping a very close eye on me to make sure that I did indeed have the coverage that I was supposed to have.

Now that I had some time on my hands I was already working towards the day that I would be back on the road - this time as a much more responsible driver who has my wits about me. This required me going through the California auto insurance companies online and finding those that would even give me high risk auto insurance. I can assure you that this is not the easiest thing to find and I’m not sure how people did this research prior to the Internet. But with some time online and an idea of what I wanted I was able to find those companies that offered SR22 insurance and had the coverage that I was required to have. Once I found policies I requested quotes to see what I was going to be looking at in terms of payments. I was not at all surprised to learn that I was going to have to pay more than for a traditional auto insurance policy but this would not be forever and it was time to face the music.
